When setting up your connections in Nicky, you need to provide the API Keys and API Secrets generated in Kraken. These keys are essential for establishing the integration between the two platforms, allowing you to fully utilize the automation and cryptocurrency management features offered by Nicky.
Shall we see how to do this?
Step 1: Log in to Your Kraken Account
Visit the official Kraken website and log in using your credentials.
Step 2: Access Your Account Settings
In the upper right corner of the screen, click on your profile icon and select “Settings” from the dropdown menu to see your account informations as shown in the image below:
In the sequence, you can click in API tab. If you are not on the “Pro” version of Kraken, you will be prompted to switch. Click the “Go to Kraken Pro” button to be redirected.
Next, you will see the option Create API Key, just select this option and a window for creating the API Key will open.
Step 4: Configure the API Key
Insert the name and assign the appropriate permissions to your API key.
For Kraken, you need to enable specific permissions to ensure full functionality with Nicky.
To use Nicky with Kraken, it is essential to enable specific permissions to ensure that the integration functions correctly. These permissions allow Nicky to access necessary information and perform automated operations on your Kraken account.
Funds Permissions:
- Query: Allows Nicky to check your account balance and transactions.
- Deposit: Authorizes Nicky to verify deposits into your account.
- Withdraw: This permission allows Nicky to execute withdrawals from your Kraken account to a bank account or other destination.
Orders and Trades:
- Query Open Orders & Trades: Allows Nicky to access and check open orders and ongoing trades.
- Query Closed Orders & Trades: Authorizes Nicky to review orders and trades that have already been completed.
- Create & Modify Orders: This permission is fundamental for Nicky to create, modify, and manage orders on your Kraken account.
Step 5: Generate the API Key
After configuring the permissions, click “Generate Key”.
Once the API Key is generated, copy and store these details securely, as you will not be able to view them again after navigating away from the page, as you can see in the following advice:
Step 6: Configure the API Key on Nicky
Open NICKY in your browser and log in with your credentials.
Access the Settings Page:
- If you’re using the desktop version, access the settings page by clicking on the menu in the top right corner of the page and then selecting Settings.
Navigate to the Connections Section:
- Within the settings page, you’ll see several tabs. Click on the Connections tab to access the connections section.
Add a New Connection:
- Within the Connections section, click on Add Connection to start configuring a new connection.
Configure the Wallet Service Provider:
- Select Wallet Service Provider: On the Add Connection page, select Wallet Service Provider.
- Enter Kraken’s Information: Fill in the required fields with the information provided by Kraken:
- API Key: Enter the API Key from Kraken.
- API Secret: Enter the corresponding Private Key.
- Name: Choose a name to identify this connection.
Add Connection:
- After filling in all the fields, click on the Add Connection button to complete the configuration.
- Upon clicking Add Connection, NICKY will update the page displaying all the wallets you have already created.
