Getting Started

Welcome to Nicky! This guide will help you create an account and send or receive your first payment — whether you’re an individual or a business.

What is Nicky?

Nicky is a simple, secure, solutions-driven, and non-custodial crypto transactions platform. We allow you to start receiving crypto with no hassle. Our platform is wallet agnostic and offers a lot of flexibility and many configuration options. We enable you to manage multiple wallets and add automation to handle your transactions with more efficiency.

Why Follow These Steps?

After completion of this guide you will be able to:

  • Send or receive payments seamlessly
  • Better wallet and payment routing
  • Access to advanced features (like automatic conversions and nick-based sharing)
  • A smoother experience for both you and your payers
  • Compatibility with multiple payment sources (e.g. crypto + fiat)
  • Seamless integration with Wallet Service Providers (WSPs)

What Do I Need to Use Nicky?

Before you can use Nicky to make simple and secure transactions, you’ll need at least one essential: an exchange / Wallet Service Provider or simply a wallet (e.g. Revolut).
These are required to complete payments, as Nicky does not store your funds at any point. Think of them as your personal bank for managing crypto.

If you already have a wallet, you can skip this step and move on to the next one, as Nicky allows you to connect any wallet to our service.

Exchange / Wallet Service Provider

Let’s start by setting up an exchange or Wallet Service Provider.
First, you’ll need to choose which Wallet Service Provider you want to use, and then create an account with them.

You can add any Exchange / Wallet Service Provider to Nicky, though to be able to use one of the many guides provided by us we recommend using one of our recommended Wallet Service Providers.

Kyrrex: https://kyrrex.com/eu

Coinbase: https://www.coinbase.com/

Foxbit: https://foxbit.com.br/

Kraken: https://www.kraken.com/

Wallets

The next step is to set up your wallet.
If you chose one of our recommended exchanges or Wallet Service Providers, you should be able to create a wallet directly on their website.

After completing this part, you’ll be ready to create your Nicky account — the exciting part starts now!

The Sign Up

Now it is time to create your own Nicky account.

1. Go to https://nicky.me and click on either “Get Started” or “Sign up”.

2. The suggested way to get started is by creating a Nicky account.
To do this, enter your email and create a password, then press “Continue”.

You can also sign up using a third-party provider like Google, Microsoft, or Apple.
If you choose one of these, you can skip ahead to the next stage.

3. First, you’ll be required to enter your first and last name.
This information is used internally and will not be visible to other Nicky users.

Next, you’ll need to choose a public name — this is the name that other users will see when interacting with your profile.

You’ll also be asked to provide your country of residence, and optionally, you can link a website to your Nicky profile.

There’s an additional (optional) field where you can let us know how you discovered Nicky — we’d really appreciate your input!

Finally, feel free to upload a profile picture to make your account truly yours.

4. Once that’s done, you’ll get a confirmation email. Just click “Confirm my account” in the email, as shown below.

5. Congratulations — you now officially have a Nicky account!

We look forward to having you use our services.

You can now return to https://nicky.me and click on “Login” to get started.

6. Now you just need to enter your account details.

Connecting to an Exchange / WSP

Connecting your Nicky account to an exchange requires two steps.

First, create a set of API Keys in your exchange account. Then, add those keys in the Settings section of your Nicky account.

Creating or finding API details

The process may vary depending on the exchange you’re using.

Keep in mind that the private key is only shown once at the time of creation, so make sure to copy it and store it in a safe place.

If you chose one of our recommended exchanges or Wallet Service Providers, you can simply follow the instructions in the corresponding guide or the exchanges / Wallet Service Providers guide found below.

Editing Merchant Configurations

These allow you to choose which assets you want to allow a payer to use for settlements. Just keep in mind that if you change your Settlement Assets , it’ll change what the payer can pick during payments.

1. First, go to Settings by clicking the “Settings” button, as shown below.

2. Next, go to the “Merchant Configuration” section. From there, you can select the currencies and assets you want to make available for settlements.

Setting up your Wallet Connections

You’re almost there! Now we’ll connect the API you just created to your Nicky account.

Once this step is complete, you’ll be ready to send your first payment and experience just how easy Nicky is to use.

Adding API details to your Nicky account

1. You should already be in the “Settings” tab. If not, click on “Settings” at the top of your screen.

2. Now, click on the “Wallets” section. The screen shown below will appear, where you’ll need to click on “Add Connection“.

3. Click on the dropdown menu and move on to the following step.

4. You’ll need to choose your “Wallet Service Provider (WSP)” now. Don’t worry, you can create more than one connection if you use multiple WSPs. In the case that you are using a Wallet that is not on our list, you can just click on “Manual” and enter it there.

5. The last step is to enter your “API Key Name” and “Private Key“, both of which you obtained during the step “Creating or finding an API Key“. You can also optionally add a name to help you easily recognise this connection.

Configuring Payment Routes

1. Stay in the “Wallets” section, as we’ll now set up your payment routes. Each asset you want to accept should have a route connected to a Wallet Service Provider (WSP).

2. The next step is to click on the “dropdown” and select your desired connection.

3. The final step is to select the assets you want to accept and send, then click on “SAVE”.

You’re now ready to send and receive payments from your contacts or businesses.

We also offer many other helpful guides on our Support page. If you have questions, feel free to explore them, we recommend starting with “Payment Requests” and “Payments” after having completed this guide.
